My new KitchenAid Mixer

I am very excited to share my creations that I am creating with my new mixer: A beautiful KitchenAid Artisan that I bought this past weekend.  It is a beauty to behold! After many years of contemplating, comparing and cost analysis, I brought my new friend home to my kitchen. It is wonderful and I am in love. I baked a milk chocolate cake with mocha icing as my first creation. It was the best cake I have ever made, and my family agreed.  This was truly a  joy in cooking and it was divine to mix butter with vanilla and sugar. And of course.....chocolate.

I have finished summer school this week and I will be posting on a weekly basis on my adventures in baking. Paul's birthday is this week, and I will be making some delicous creations for our adventure to Las Vegas to celebrate. I will be bringing treats to Matt, Jenn and baby Mackenzie, and I hope they survive the toasty drive in the heat.

I love vacations, I am so excited to bake! (My two favorite appliances!)

My blogging adventure...welcome!

Welcome to my blogging adventure! I am blogging to share my recipes and archive them for eternity. I realized that I have many recipes from my grandparents that are on scraps of paper and on the back of an envelopes. They have become very hard to read, and I am afraid that they will not be passed on to future generations.

In the spring of this year (2011), I was trying to decipher a recipe for cinnamon rolls from my Grandma Simons. I love her comments on the old tattered envelope, but it was so hard to read. I realized that this would happen to my recipes if I did not perserve them. Oh no, my children and grandchildren would not know how to make puppy chow! So, I decided to blog. I hope to develop this into an area to archive my favorite recipes as well as perserve them for my family. I will document them as best as I can, and of course...include a picture to show the finished product.

So, the adventure begins!
